i hate when gum does that! >.< My summers good. It's been busy so far, and i'm applying for a job with a company that publishes activity books etc. for school kids...and with a shop in town that's going out of business...and yet they won't know be able to make a decision concerning my application for at least a week and a half...does that make very much sense at all? eh. oh well. I'd love to do a collaboration with you though! do you want to do something like combining our styles in a composition, or one of us drawing and the other coloring? Is there any other kind? lol

My summer's been pretty blah and busy, but it's not terrible and I'm doing well. Except for just now... I chewed some gum that's making my tummy ikky... D: Heh, oh well!

Thank you so much! I don't know how to explain it other than to say i use lots of references, light outlining, and colors. ummm...use complimentary colors for shadows....and i've recently taken to using ball point pen for sketching, outlining, and textures. Most important thing is to abstract from reality, and create a complete stylization that works. how's your summer by the way?

If you can, it helps to spend time with real horses and watch them move. If you pay close attention to how the muscles slide under the skin, it goes a long way towards understanding how they're built and how they move. And if not (like me, for a decade) horse movies are a fair substitute, or reining or dressage videos.
